Pauline Hall writes ...

'I am a Yorkshirewoman by birth, although for the first eight years of my life I lived in Amen Court in the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, I taught in schools and privately. Whilst living and teaching in Harrogate (with my husband and three children) I felt the need for a piano tutor which made learning fun, and which progressed at the pace of my slowest learner. I started by writing little tunes in my pupils' notebooks, and these formed the basis of Tunes for Ten Fingers; the Oxford Piano Method developed from this.

We now live in a small village in the beautiful Lune Valley just south of the Lake District, and within view of Yorkshire's highest mountain - Ingleborough. I play the violin in an orchestra and enjoy playing chamber music with friends. I also play the organ in our little church and enjoy gardening, walking, and bird-watching, and I even bake my own bread - so life is quite busy!
